Dr Carolyn Joy Tate is one of the most experienced US university admissions advisors in the UK. Starting her career as a member of the Teach for America Corps, she taught in inner-city Baltimore. Subsequently, she earned a PhD in English Literature from the University Virginia. At UVA, Carolyn was a graduate lecturer in the English department teaching literature courses on texts from the 16th-21st centuries, as well as courses on gender studies and the history of the novel. Having also taught at selective secondary schools where she provided support for the college counselling programmes, Carolyn now uses her knowledge of US higher education to guide students through the US university application process. Helping students craft compelling and confident applications is her chief aim, as well as helping them grow personally through the admissions process.
